What Final Round AI actually charges

Their subscription page lists five tiers, and the gap between the cheapest and the dearest route to the same feature set is large enough that quoting one number would be misleading. Here they all are.

The row worth reading twice is the free one. Their free plan is generous about practice and gives you nothing during a real interview: no Interview Copilot, no Stealth Mode. So "there is a free plan" and "you can try the thing you are actually buying" are two different statements here. Hidini's free tier is 50 AI credits and 10-minute sessions of the real overlay, with no card, which is a smaller allowance of the actual product rather than a larger allowance of a different one.

What the money actually looks like

Take their two realistic routes to the live Copilot. The Yearly plan is $300 paid up front, and the Monthly plan is $150 a month if you would rather not commit a year to a job search you hope is short.

Six months of their Monthly plan is $900, roughly eleven times Hidini Pro. Their Yearly plan is $300, which is under four times ours in year one and then renews while ours does not. On refunds they are stricter than we are in one direction and clearer in the other: the guarantee is 72 hours, it applies only to a first quarterly or yearly purchase, and monthly plans, renewals, and upgrades are all non-refundable. We review refund requests case by case within 14 days, which is a longer window but a vaguer promise. Neither is a substitute for using both free tiers first.

On invisibility, read their FAQ, not their homepage

Final Round AI's homepage runs the headline "100% Invisible & Undetectable" and says the Copilot runs quietly in the background during live interviews even while you are screen sharing, with no pop-ups, no visible interface, and nothing the interviewer can see. Their support FAQ, four clicks away, puts it differently: the native app is designed to be invisible during screen sharing, but real-world setups vary with OS settings, meeting app versions, and enterprise security policies, and if the interview is high-stakes you should do a full dry run on the same device and the same meeting software first.

That second paragraph is the accurate one, and it applies to us as well. Nobody in this category can promise 100% of anything about software they do not control on a machine they have never seen. What both apps do is exclude their own window from screen capture at the operating-system level, which is why Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Discord, and OBS record a clean desktop. It works, and it is worth verifying yourself rather than taking on faith from a marketing page, ours included.

One structural difference: their browser version does not get this, only the native app does. Their own FAQ says they cannot override browser-level settings or restrictions imposed by meeting platforms and points you at the native app for full Stealth Mode. Hidini has no browser version at all, so there is nothing to pick wrong.

And neither app hides from the room. Your physical display shows everything. A second camera pointed at your screen, or a person behind you, sees exactly what you see. That is true for Hidini, for Final Round AI, and for every product in this category, whatever the homepage says. We keep a plainly worded limitations list on our site for exactly this reason.

Both of us read your CV. Only one keeps it on your Mac

This used to be a row Final Round AI won outright. It is a tie now. Their onboarding asks you to upload a resume and pick a target role, and the Copilot writes answers against it. Hidini takes a CV in PDF, Word, RTF, or plain text, plus a link to the job posting, and puts both into the prompt behind every hint, screen analysis, and suggested reply.

Where the two differ is what happens to that file afterwards. Final Round AI is an account on their servers, and your resume lives there alongside your interview history and any recordings you turn on. Hidini stores your profile and job summary on your Mac, and if you point the app at a local model through LM Studio, Ollama, or Jan, the text of your CV never leaves the machine at all. If you use our included credits instead, the request goes through our proxy like any other, which is worth knowing rather than glossing over.

Where Final Round AI wins

It runs on Windows 10 or later. Hidini does not, and if your interview machine is a PC that ends the comparison before any other row on this page matters.

It is also a far broader product, and the practice half is the part we have no answer to at all. Unlimited AI mock interviews, scored reports covering speech clarity and engagement, a question bank of more than 10,000 questions, and a resume builder are all in the same subscription. Their Copilot has named integrations with LeetCode, HackerRank, CodeSignal, CoderPad, and CodePen, where our screen analysis just reads whatever region you point it at. Real-time transcription covers 26 or more languages. They claim more than 10 million users, which we come nowhere near, and that scale shows up as a support team and a release cadence we cannot match as a much smaller operation.

If you want one tool for the whole search rather than one tool for the live call, that is a good and honest reason to buy theirs instead of ours.

What Hidini has that Final Round AI does not

A price that stops. $79.99 once, no renewal date, no plan to downgrade when the search ends. Your own API key or a local model, so the AI can cost you nothing on top and, with a local model, never leave your Mac. A free tier that includes the actual live overlay rather than a practice tool.

Invisible sticky notes are the small one people tell us they did not expect to love. You write your prep before the call, your STAR stories, your complexity cheat sheet, and it floats over every app while staying out of the shared screen.

Then there is the app itself. Hidini is written entirely in Swift with zero third-party packages: a 4.2 MB download that sits at 0% CPU when idle and runs on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs alike. Final Round AI's Mac app is an Electron build, a 180 MB Apple Silicon disk image with no Intel version at all, so an older Mac is simply not supported. During an interview your machine is already running a video call, screen sharing, and an IDE, and we think the weight of your helper app matters right then.

How we measured: the byte size of the macOS installer each site links from its own download page, read from the HTTP response and checked in July 2026. Final Round AI was final-round-desktop-2.5.0-arm64-mac.dmg at 180,446,689 bytes, redirected to from their latest-mac download URL; their release manifest is in electron-builder's format and lists no Intel build. Hidini was Hidini.dmg at 4,162,958 bytes on our public releases page, from release v1.11. Neither company publishes idle CPU except us.

So is Hidini a good Final Round AI alternative?

For one half of it, yes, and clearly so. If the reason you are paying Final Round AI is the live overlay in a real interview, on a Mac, then Hidini costs $79.99 once instead of $300 a year or $150 a month, excludes itself from screen capture the same way, builds answers from the same CV and job posting, and lets you run the AI on your own key or entirely offline.

For the other half, no. We do not sell mock interviews, scored reports, a question bank, or a resume builder, and we are not going to pretend a cheaper overlay replaces them. If you interview on Windows, we are not an option at all. If you want the practice tools and the live help from one vendor with one login, buy theirs.

Both are free to start, so test rather than take anyone's word, ours included. Install one, call a friend, share your entire screen, and ask what they see. Then run a practice question with the overlay open. Note the asymmetry while you do it: Hidini's free tier gives you 50 credits and 10-minute sessions of the live overlay, while Final Round AI's free plan gives you mock interviews and no Copilot, so trying the thing you would actually be paying for means subscribing first.

Hidini runs on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, on macOS 14 Sonoma or later. On Windows the position reverses: they ship a Windows 10 build and we do not ship one at all.
